For those who aren't aware, Cardinal Francis George (of Chicago) has been elected the new President of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. To get a sense of the man, here's something I pulled down from the Chicago Archdiocese's site, created at Cardinal George's request. If you like these short clips, do check out the tag SPEAKER: Fr. Barron and Fr.'s other (longer) talks.

Cardinal George has declared 2006 the “Year of Evangelization.” Father Barron has been chosen to take the lead in this spiritual initiative. Father Barron is a nationally-renowned speaker, author and professor of theology at the University of St Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary. He is delivering a series of special Lenten Missions throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago. Father Barron recorded abbreviated versions of his talks for viewing on our web site. They run about 4-minutes each and can be viewed by clicking on the links below.
